It's provided for the benefit of people who have not previously done this camp, as an indication of the content. There may be changes to the schedule, but the content of the camp will remain very similar.

MONDAY July 11th

12noon - 5pm.        Camp Check-in and Lactate Testing*. Max Heart Rate & Blood Lactate Testing.   

6pm - 8:00pm.        Welcome Night – “Private” Room at Penticton Lakeside Resort on Lakeshore Drive.  Dinner served.  

Coach & Athlete introductions. Camp objectives & schedule overview.


TUESDAY July 12th

7:00am – 8:30am  Open Water Swim workout. Location across from Slumberlodge on Lakeshore Drive.

 

8:45am-11:30am  Buffet Breakfast provided. Lakeside resort. (“Private”  Room)

Info Session - Presentation:  Nutrition for training & racing.

                       

Lunch break.

 

1:00pm – 1:15pm          Meet for Bike ride at Slumberlodge. Group Photo

 

1:15 pm – 4:00 pm        Bike + Run. Distances vary to suit your speed, ability and comfort level (2 or 3 groups). Coaches observe bike-fit, cycling technique etc.

Short run from Slumberlodge after bike ride, 20 mins. Out & back on Lakeshore/Riverside.

4:30pm – 5:30pm          Yoga for Triathletes – Lakeside resort. (Meet at “Private”  Room)

 


WEDNESDAY July 13th

7:00am – 8:30    Open Water Swim workout.  Location across from Slumberlodge on Lakeshore Drive.

 

8:45 - 11:30am   Buffet Breakfast provided. Lakeside resort (“Private”  Room). Info session: Heart Rate training Zones, by Coach Cal Zaryski.-Bike equipment choices, set-up and Ironman Canada Course briefing. Briefing for long bike ride, start procedure and course directions.

 

11:45am – 1:15pm  Run workout. Interval session on Kettle Valley Railway Trail.

 

1:15 – 2:30pm               Lunch break.

 

2:30pm – 3:30pm          Meet at Slumberlodge.

Bike ride (“Small ring” recovery spin) – easy pace, flat terrain.

 

4:00pm– Onwards.        Free afternoon to prepare for tomorrow.

Coaches available at Impact Multisport Training Centre, for assistance with;

Bike adjustments, Nutrition planning for long bike day. General Q & A.


THURSDAY July 14th
 

6:00am to 7:00 Start      Your own specific start time will be announced Wednesday.

Meet 15mins before your allocated ride start time, at Impact Training Centre

Ironman Canada Bike Course Ride – various distances available. Includes blood glucose testing throughout, to confirm nutrition plan. Bike support vehicles, special needs and aid station support.

 

2-5km Run, off the bike. Last part of Ironman Marathon course.

 

2:00pm – 5:00pm          30minute massage for all athletes after the workout – at Impact Centre. Sign-in immediately after you finish your bike/run.


FRIDAY July 15th

6:45am – 9:00am       7am Swim Start. Ironman Canada Course Swim. Water safety paddlers & motor boat patrolling course.

 

9:00 am – 10:30am        Buffet (hot) breakfast - (“Private”  Room).

Info session: Ironman Training – Peaking and Tapering for Ironman.

                                   

11:00am   Meet at Slumberlodge. Run workout. Ironman Canada Course. You will be dropped off at your chosen start point on the Ironman Canada marathon course, to run the last section of the course – all finishing on Lakeshore Drive. Distance options: 7,11,13,15 or 19 miles. (11, 17.5, 21, 25 or 32km)

 

2:00pm – 5:00pm          30minute massage for all athletes. Sign-in immediately after you finish your run.

 

6:00pm    Pub Night – Kettle Valley Station Pub (at the Ramada) – Poolside Terrace   


SATURDAY July 16th
 

8:00 – 8:45am               Open Water Swim workout & fun races.

 

9:00 - 10:30am             Tire Changing clinic / practice.

                                    Transition Practice.

 

11am – 12:30pm          Sandwich Lunch (provided) at Lakeside Resort. - (“Private”  Room).

Info session: Mental approach to Ironman and training, by Kevin Cutjar.

 

1:00pm – 3:00pm          Ice-cream ride – Various Groups/Routes.

 

4pm – 5pm                   Yoga for Triathletes – Lakeside resort. (“Private”  Room)

 

6.00pm – 9:00pm          Camp Wrap up Night – “Private” Room at Penticton Lakeside Resort on Lakeshore Drive.  Dinner served.(“Private”  Room).


SUNDAY July 17th
    
 

Peach Classic Triathlon.             Location across from Slumberlodge.

5:00am                                     Bike lot opens

 

7:00am                                     Race Starts­­­­­­­­­­­
