Now that my race season has officially ended with the 70.3 World Championships, I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all of your help and guidance over the last 11 months. I feel quite confident in saying I would not have been able to have any of the success I did this year if it were not for your skills as a coach. Along the way, you showed me that racing is in fact the fun part of the process.

I started with you in January of with, for me, the lofty goal of qualifying for the 2007 World 70.3 Championships at a qualifying race in March. I have remarked many times how amazed I was at your ability to provide me with workouts that were both challenging but not overwhelming and how you were able to customize my plan to accommodate “life” (family obligations, business travel, etc.). To say my 2007 race results were good would be a huge understatement; from March through November I recorded the following results: Age group 1st place, Age group 2nd place, Age group 4th place, personal bests in virtually every successive race and a World Championship finish with a PB time. Pretty impressive stuff for someone who was firmly in the middle of the pack for over 11 years of triathlon racing.

As I indicated above, your coaching is the single biggest reason for the results I posted. To me “your coaching” is not merely limited to providing interesting, progressive workouts but also includes the many conversations we had about enjoying the training journey and being more than just physically prepared for an event. In addition your guidance about preparing a nutritional plan to compliment the physical work was invaluable and a further example of your deep understanding of the requirements of successful endurance training. Your technical understanding of the physical demands of endurance training is matched by your obvious passion for ensuring an individual is prepared to maximize their potential while having an extremely positive training experience.

I have no doubt that anyone who is lucky enough to enjoy your coaching services in the future will not only receive guidance from a highly competent source, they will achieve their absolute best in terms of personal development while enjoying the entire journey.

Best regards. Paul Connolly

"I sat down with Kevin before doing my first Ironman. He laid out a well organized straight forward program that guaranteed I was well prepared and ready to take on the challenge. He will get you to the starting line with lots of confidence that you can have a great day - then it is up to you to execute!"

After competing in my first Ironman (Canada 2002), which I finished in 11:30, I signed on with Impact Multisport. Kevin helped take me from an average, middle-of-the-pack finisher to a competitive age-group, podium finisher and 3-time Hawaii finisher.

Kevin’s sound training principles and proven methods allowed me to achieve results that were beyond any expectations I ever had. My Ironman times continued to improve as I worked with Kevin. My 2003 Ironman Canada was almost 1 hour faster than the previous year and I had my first sub 10-hour finish in 2005 (Canada 9:56) to a 9:50 podium finish in Coeur d’Alene in 2006. Kevin took my competitive nature into account when designing my training programs and helping me set my goals. He also helped me nail down my Ironman nutrition and the mental aspect of the longer distance racing. I believe this was a key component in my ability to continue to take my racing to new levels.

My ongoing improvement in the sport and past successes can be directly attributed to the consistent and structured training programs that Kevin provided me for the years I worked with him. As a result, I would recommend his coaching services and programs to anyone from the first time rookie to the experienced elite”

After one more successful racing season I want to thank you for all of the coaching help you have provided over the last few years. Your approach to training and the training program you provided has been instrumental in that success. The training programs have always provided a great deal of variety and have often been a challenge, which of course, makes it a lot of fun. This is particularly true of the group workouts and time trials which we get to experience as locals.

"As a result of my coaching from Kevin at Impact Multisport, I was able to reach my goal of qualifying for and competing at the Ironman World Championships at Kona. After nearly a decade of trial and error, Kevin provided a comprehensive and realistic training program catering for my desire to compete at a top level and also have time to enjoy my young family"

Thanks to you Kevin and your quality level coaching program through Impact Multi Sport, I have been able to reach my goals of improving my podium finishes in all my races and qualifying to Hawaii all three years I worked with you. It has been nice to know that one can just trust in your knowledge and expertise by following the structured and consistent plans you individualize for each and every one of your athletes and have the confidence that on race day you will be prepared both physically and mentally.
Thanks again for making me a better athlete!

“I’ve been working with Coach Kev since August 2004, and since then I’ve enjoyed plenty of success at Ironman racing, including three trips to Kona. I’ve given Kev some interesting challenges, which included planning my training around international travel, and training while recovering from a serious cycling injury. The strength of our coaching relationship is his ability to adjust the training based on my feedback, and to make the training fit into my lifestyle.”

MYLES GAULIN

Kevin, Olly and Barb at Impact Multisport have been essential to my enjoyment and satisfaction in triathlon. In making the transition from short to long distance racing, I looked to a team of 3 coaches who had as athletes, completed 50+ Ironman finishes. Kevin in particular has the ability to combine the latest exercise physiology data with good old fashioned real world experience, and sort things out when they conflict. Personally, I was given a regime that factored in my challenging shift work schedule and was adapted to my strengths, weaknesses, and injury issues. Since signing on 2 seasons ago, I have completed 3 Ironmans and exceeded my personal goals. A big thanks to Impact Multisport coaches and fellow training partners for support and fellowship along the way.

I have been coached by Impact Multisport for the past two years. CoachKev has consistently provided me with training programs that meet my lifestyle and evolving goals. Our one-on-one monthly calls are always a great opportunity for me to review the previous month and focus on the month to come. The online training log is an amazing tool that allows me to keep track of my training and keep track of my improvements by looking at previous - weekly, monthly or annual training logs. CoachKev has the perfect amount of enthusiasm with a little bit of Australian "suck it up" to assist me in achieving my goals.

I have participated in various camps Impact Multisport has hosted. I found myself surrounded with Coaches and group Leaders that have such a wealth of knowledge and amazing attitudes that I really didn't want the days to end! The camps are organized in a safe and flexible manner allowing athletes at all levels the opportunity to really challenge themselves. The camps also provided me the opportunity to be surrounded with like minded people - that have really become part of my triathlon family!

“With no back ground in the sport of triathlon I signed up for Ironman Canada in the fall of 2003. The best thing I did at the time was hire Kevin Cutjar and train with Team Impact. Kevin placed me on a training program that was based on my existing level of fitness and tailored to the specific goals that I had in mind. There were some hurdles along the way but with the benefit of Kevin’s experience and guidance I was able to work through the physical challenges to complete my first Ironman in 2004 in under 11 hrs. In 2007 I set a personal best in Ironman Canada and owe it a lot to Kevin and his team. I highly recommend CoachKev and his team to any triathlete who desires to reach their full potential in the sport of triathlon.”

"I've been coached by Impact Multisport for three years and have always felt I was in good hands under the watchful eye of Kevin. He'll design your program in such a way as to improve your weaknesses and make you a better all-round triathlete. Whether you are new to triathlon or have been competing for years, there's a lot you can learn from Kevin. He takes the guess work out of training."

Sincerely, Barry Emerson

I signed up for Ironman and Coach Kevin on the same day, and we both had our hands full. As a first-time triathlete, so green I'd never had clip-less bike shoes, I needed coaching about everything. I credit Kevin for my having one of the best years of my life; because of Impact Coaching, I met an incredibly supportive group, always felt progress, reached my finishing goals and smiled all the way.

Thanks Kevin!! Carolyn Kidd

“Kevin’s training programs gave me the confidence I needed to go from being a long-distance runner to training for Half-Iron and Ironman triathlon. I was new to swimming and I had never owned a road bike. I learned open-water swim race strategies and very important heart rate pacing for the running and cycling portions of the longer triathlon races. He consistently used his many years of experience to address my strengths and weaknesses along the way – also, successfully modifying my training to accommodate an unexpected neck surgery and still managing to keep me on track to complete a half Ironman four months later. Often triathletes have problems setting up their own nutrition and hydration requirements for long-distance events but using Kevin’s formulas and guidance I never once had an issue with these during my races. I think what stands out most is that he took the time to provide me with a “personal” experience with programs that were 100% made just for me. I am so impressed with his personal training programs that I have now purchased his new ERacePlanner Software - it’s amazing”.

Just a quick note to say thanks so much for all of your help as my coach over the years.

Its because of your commitment and dedication to me as a coach that I was able to make athletic accomplishments I never dreamed I was capable of (Boston qualifier at my first marathon, 2nd place age category finish at my first triathlon – to list a couple)

The personal philosophies you shared with me through your coaching, and your integrity as both a coach and an athlete have inspired me in my personal life as well as my athletic endeavours. It has truly been my privilege to be coached by you and I’m very proud to have been associated with you and Team Impact Multisport.

Many thanks,

Claire Matheson – Impact Multisport athlete 2003-2005

Following Kevin’s structured training program toward my first Ironman, gave me the confidence I needed on my big day. I followed the program exactly and exceeded my Ironman goal of just finishing, by winning my age group. I felt great thanks to excellent preparation.

I strongly feel that I would not have got to the Ironman starting line without Kevin's coaching. With an individualized training plan for me, combined with the Ironspirit Camp, we had all of my personal obstacles and concerns addressed. It was always going to be a challenge doing an Ironman in my first year of triathlon, but my day was a success and was so uplifting. I have also carried so much of what I learned from him into other areas of my life.
